UPDATE: All of these babies have gone to their new homes. We are a small rattery with only a handful of litters every year, so stay tuned for our next litter this coming Fall.
We have 23 beautiful babies who have been held every day from the moment they were born. They LOVE to be held. They're all friendly and playful and will make wonderful pets.
Dumbo's are $10
Standard ear are $5
They will be weaned and available on Saturday, April 9th. If you're interested, just email me and tell me which rats you'd like: rexburgrats @ gmail.com (remove the spaces).
We had a chunky litter that will be weaned and ready to go home on February 18th! Email me to reserve yours: rexburgrats @ gmail.com (remove the spaces).

These babies have been handled constantly from the hour they were born and are so friendly and playful. They will make excellent pets. Rats are naturally social, so they do best in groups of two or more. If you already have a rat or two at home, a new baby rat will be welcomed into your group.

Little Nadia is free to a good home. She is VERY sweet and she has some special needs. She is tiny (she was born tiny, too), but she was the first to open her eyes. Her eyes look wet and she doesn't ever blink her eyes, which sometimes causes a reddish build-up on her eyelids that we gently wipe off with warm water. She closes her eyes when she's sleeping or when you blow on her. She doesn't have the typical behavior of blind rats, but we do question her vision (rats have poor vision to begin with, so it's hard to tell). She jumps around and plays with her litter mates, and seems to eat and drink normally, too. We just don't know what the future holds for her.
UPDATE: Our little Nadia is doing SOOO much better. Her eyes are looking clear and bright. She is looking so healthy that I mistook her for her brother today. She has put on lots of weight and loves her treats. She's still little, but she's catching up. I think her future prospects are looking good.
UPDATE AGAIN (2/22/22): Nadia is developing normally! We no longer question her vision; it's normal. She climbs, she jumps, she plays, she grooms herself, she greets us at the cage door, she takes treats. What is abnormal about her is that she's incredibly friendly, brave, and smaller than average. She is so spoiled, though, that her belly is rapidly expanding! This girl is a bottomless pit when it comes to treats!
UPDATE: All 16 babies have gone home to their new people!

Alfalfa and Darla tragically lost their mother to illness when they were just two weeks old. We had to hand-feed them on an hourly basis for about a week before they were consistently eating and drinking on their own. As a consequence, they are VERY friendly and love to be held. They're playful and bounce around like popcorn. I don't think a pair of rats has ever been more spoiled than these two. They ought to go home to folks who already have a rat, or are willing to get another rat at a later date, since they will need a companion.
They'll be ready for pick up by December 30, 2021. If you're interested, just email me and tell me which rats you'd like: rexburgrats @ gmail.com (remove the spaces).
