Miracle Litter Born October 10, 2014

UPDATE: All of these babies have found their homes. Thank you so much for the interest in these 17 rats and for making them your pets.

We have a new wonderful litter of "agouti" and "blue agouti" babies born here. All of them are $5 to a good home. Just email me at RexburgRats @ gmail.com (take out the spaces) to arrange to pick them up. They do best in pairs (or more), so definitely consider taking more than one. You can also add a baby or two to your existing adult pet rats. Adult rats love babies rats.

Our favorite mama rat, Stella, came from a litter of 9, and in her first litter she delivered 9 babies. Pretty average. When she was pregnant with this second litter, she was looking a bit more rotund, so I guessed she'd have about 12 babies this time around. We were pretty surprised to find 17 babies in her nest! Not only did she carry and deliver 17 babies, but all of them survived birth, and all of them are doing well to this day. What a feat! She did a great job raising these little things. It's the biggest litter I've ever had.

We have 9 females and 8 males. All of them have been handled and socialized from the day they were born. They're nothing like the (unfriendly) rats from the pet store. Both parents have the greatest temperament, so it's no surprise that these babies are also as sweet as can be. At this age, baby rats are exploring their world by nibbling on everything (including our fingers), but these little babies are licking everything instead of nibbling. Again, they take after their parents. They will make the most affectionate little pets.

Newest Litter, born May 9, 2014

Update: All the babies have gone home to their new owners. Thanks for all the interest in these amazing pets. Stay tuned for more baby rats to come in the near future.

We have nine adorable baby rats that are $5 for the taking. If you're not already aware, rats make excellent pets (much better than hamsters, gerbils, and mice) because of their intelligence, cleanliness, playfulness, and tendency to never bite. They do best in groups because they're highly social creatures, so consider taking home at least two. We had three females and six males born to us on May 9th. They'll be available to go home starting on June 6th (once they are four weeks old and weaned). They will make wonderful pets as they've been handled every day from the time they were born. They've been loved on by all my kids and have the best personalities. Email me now to reserve your special pets!
